DubGather’s video of ‘The Empire Strikes’ comic!
I got a wonderful surprise today: Some talented folks over at ‘DubGathers‘ have made one of my childhood Star Wars comics into a very funny ‘motion comic video!
The Empire Strikes – Comic Fandub from Quirderph on Vimeo.
It’s my really terrible, and mercifully incomplete ‘Empire Strikes!’ one, in which at the age of 10 or 11, I tried to imagine what the sequel would be like.
One of the reasons why their video works so well—apart from the talented voice artists—is that they’re reciting the nonsense that I ‘wrote’ as a kid, and that the story is completely aimless and made-up-as-it-goes-along!
It’s 15 and a half minutes long—such a lot of work by an international group effort—and I seriously laughed out loud many times watching it. Make sure that you watch the brief after-end-credits-sequence. It’s overdubbed with some silly dialogue that I wrote on this page of the Star Wars adaptation. I exploded in laughter at it.
Check it out on Vimeo!
